International Program
It is with great joy and emotion that we present to you this new selection, for our return to the cinema screens and reunion with the public. From the 2734 international entries received, we chose 48 films from 28 different countries.
During the selection process, we noticed a very strong concern for the environment. In general, the submitted films showed questions about serious issues as if, after two years of the pandemic, the filmmakers felt the need to return to fundamental issues such as life itself, death and the meaning of collectivity.
Despite the seriousness of the topics discussed, the panorama we offer is fundamentally optimistic and universal. It shows individuals fighting the system, always in favor of the community, misfits who try to integrate into society, young people obstinate in their desire to transmit something to the humanity. Death, when present, is an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of life and art. Violence is treated only to show that a way out is possible. And there is always plenty of room for the dream, the absurd, the fantastic.
You'll find it all in this small worldwide selection, with aesthetic diversity and increasingly inventive shapes, because that's the strength of the short format.
